The applicant must have the minimum income, provided for by law, that enables them to reside in Portugal;
The minimum requirements must be guaranteed for a period of more than 12 months;
They must have proof that their income has been sent to Portugal;
The minimum income required varies according to the number of people in the applicant's household:

Holders of the D7 visa may enjoy Non-Habitual Resident Status, which allows the citizen to be exempt from taxation on such income or pensions, obtained outside Portugal, provided they have already been taxed in their country of origin.
